Karolina Stachyra was a key writer on The Witcher 3, famously penning the whole Bloody Baron questline, which went on to become a standout fan favourite.
However, she left developer CD Projekt Red after the release of Blood and Wine in 2016. Stachyra then spent the best part of a decade working as a narrative lead at Dying Light studio Techland, and STALKER team GSC Gameworld.
But now, the celebrated writer is back at CDPR. As it turns out, Stachyra returned to the fold as a consultant in February of this year, and is currently a full-time writer.
It's pretty big news considering her credentials; Stachyra played a major role in crafting one of the best-written RPGs on the market, and so to see her make a comeback at CDPR should inspire confidence in onlookers like you and me.
Stachyra hasn't mentioned what she's actually working on, but it's assumed that she'll have a hand in The Witcher 4, which is set to release in 2028.
For what it's worth, I interviewed Stachyra all the way back in 2016 — she gave some great answers when asked about all things Blood and Wine. It makes for a fun read given that The Witcher 3 is still making headlines a full decade later.
