You’ve crash-landed on a mysterious planet, and when a distress signal from beneath the planet’s surface leads you underground, you discover the dark forces now at play.
Since you’re the only one on this planet with the technology to deal with this ancient evil, it’s up to you to explore what’s going on and try to put a stop to it. Even if you feel ill-equipped at the start of your new mission, you won’t feel that way for long. Technologies from civilizations that have lived beneath the surface are waiting to be discovered, allowing you to research and craft new equipment that will better prepare you for the journey ahead.
There’s a lot of journey, too. There are three layers to this continent-sized expansion, and 12 new biomes to explore. A game-sized expansion in itself, Snail Games promises more than 200 hours of gameplay from Terracrypt in addition to the hundreds of hours the base game already provides.
It’s more than just the new subterranean backdrop that’s going to make Terracrypt feel more like a sequel than an expansion. In addition to its new campaign, new world, and new tech, there are 80 creatures that call the DLC home, which can’t be found in the base game. That also applies to the 11 new enemy types you’ll encounter once you head beneath the surface.
You don’t have long to wait to embark on your new PixARK adventure either. Its Terracrypt DLC, along with all of the new creatures and quests that come along with it that will give hundreds of hours of fresh content, will be released on August 26, 2026, at 6 pm PST.
