At the 2026 Pokémon World Championship closing ceremony, Pokémon President Tsunekazu Ishihara announced the Pokémon Trading Card Game will be getting its own movie.
This animated film is called Pokémon Wild Card and will be arriving in cinemas in 2027. Alongside this announcement was a teaser trailer.
"Get ready for Pokémon: Wild Card, an all-new animated film featuring a Pokémon TCG player and Mimikyu! Stay tuned!"
The movie's protagonist is a Pokémon trading card player who is striving to become a champion. It aims to showcase the competitive spirit of trainers around the world. According to Ishihara, the team is currently hard at work on production and looking forward to bringing it to audiences soon.
