Update [Mon 24th Aug 2026, 1pm]: An ordering issue which meant the best-selling PS5 games were appearing alphabetically as opposed to by sales has been solved.
Sony’s storefront now shows games in the correct order, with Fortnite reclaiming its place at number one, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 leading the pre-orders list.
Original Story: Good news for the makers of 007 First Light and 1000xRESIST – both games are currently appearing on the PS Store homepage due to a glitch.
Sony usually shows the most popular games in each country across a variety of categories, ranging from pre-orders to downloads.
But these are currently ordered alphabetically, as opposed to by sales performance.
That means Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve has now “usurped” GTA 6 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 as PS5’s most wanted game, alongside quaint FMV effort Akiba Lost.
The bug is consistent across the console and web store, and it’s broken on the Browse tab too.
It’s a minor glitch so I’d expect this to be resolved relatively quickly, and the good news is this isn’t really a big problem. While not ideal, it’s only a tiny browsing inconvenience if you’re hitting up the PS Store right now.
