Players have three choices to choose from when they have to pay Anca in The Blood of Dawnwalker. They can either pay Anca 50 Gold, 25 Gold, or say that they can't afford it. Putting it simply, it doesn't matter how much you pay Anca, as there are no consequences regardless of how much you pay her. Still, there are variations in her response, so you may be interested to know what happens with each choice.
After getting the medicine from Anca for Coen's mother, Coen will ask how much he owes her. Here, Anca will say that the medicine costs twice the usual amount, so 25 Denarii instead of 50 Denarii. You can choose between these three responses:
If you choose to pay Anca 50 Gold, she will be pleasantly surprised. She will mention that people usually argue with her, but then again, she knows that Coen is different from the rest. Of course, you can't choose this option if you don't have enough Denarii. So if you plan to pay Anca the full price for the medicine, you should consider doing some Prologue quests in The Blood of Dawnwalker beforehand. Alternatively, you can loot items around the village and selling it to a trader by the Laslea Centre Shrine.
If you choose to pay Anca 25 Denarii, she will be slightly annoyed, but will accept the payment. She says that she doesn't want money to get between them, so she will accept the usual payment.
Meanwhile, if you tell her that you don't have enough money, Anca will say something about trusting Coen to pay her back. When you choose this option, you will get Anca's herbs with 0 Gold. When you talk to her again later, there will be an option to pay her for the herbs, but instead of 25 or 50 Gold, the option requires you to pay Anca 100 Denarii. So it's twice the price she asks for, four times the usual cost.
All in all, I recommend paying Anca 25 Denarii. It doesn't upset her, it saves you some money, and you won't end up owing her anything. Regardless, there are no consequences even if you end up not paying Anca back, so it's just something for your conscience.
