Playing through the story mode of Halloween: The Game will unlock extra clothing and hairstyles for civilians in the multiplayer mode, and personalization options for your profile. All you have to do is complete different challenges to receive them. In Chapter 2, you learn how to stalk your targets for more points. While you're learning, you can complete a challenge by taking the hardware shop worker, Eric, out in a specific location of the store.
At the start of Chapter 2, you're standing outside a hardware store's back alley. As you get closer to the alley, a pop-up appears telling you how to use Shape Jump to go through doors. Inside, you'll see Eric. He's closing up the hardware store alone. Once you grab your mask and your weapon, you'll be ready to learn stalking, then take Eric out.
When you enter the store, you'll first need to grab the mask across from the register. As part of the cutscene of picking up the mask, Michael also walks over to a shelf with kitchen knives and picks up the largest one.
This will put you outside the storeroom, where a pop-up will show you how to use the Killer Sense to get a victim to Stalk Level 3. The benefits of a higher stalk level mean that your victim will be easier to chase and kill, you can track them, you have access to different kill areas and scenes, and you get more points.
To enter Killer Sense, press R on the keyboard or press down on your right joystick. Watch your victim to increase the stalk score. As you look at them, black and red circles will appear. Center your circle on them, and they will turn white and start to crack. This increases your stalk score faster. They're at level 3 when the diamond over them has three tallies on it.
Once you have Eric at a Stalk Level 3, grab him and take him back into the room you started watching him through. Eric is likely to try to slip out of Michael's grasp as you walk to the storeroom. To keep hold of him, you'll need to stop the holding spinner in the blue or green when it pops up on the screen. If he does get away, just try to grab him quickly again.
On the left side of the room is a tall, blue toolbox with cabinets. This is the shelf kill location. Take him here and use your LT on the controller or F key on the keyboard to perform the specialty kill.
To ensure you get the rewards for completing the challenge, you have to finish the level.
