Within the League of Villains, Dabi, formerly known as Toya Todoroki, is undeniably one of the strongest characters in My Hero Academia. With his Blue Flames that possess far greater destructive power than Endeavor's Hellflame, Dabi can effortlessly engulf the battlefield in an active inferno.
However, Dabi’s rise to power in My Hero Academia did not come easy. Before Dabi unlocked his strongest forms, he nearly died from the life-threatening injuries that came with using his Quirk. Driven by his desire to destroy Endeavor's hero career and uphold Stain's ideals, Toya Todoroki abandoned his former identity and continued living as the villainous Dabi.
Shoto Todoroki’s second Great Glacial Aegir attack froze Dabi’s body from the inside out, ultimately bringing the villain down. Although Dabi survived the attack, his body suffered life-threatening injuries, leaving him in a severely weakened and vulnerable state. He was eventually reduced to a helpless condition, requiring life support to remain alive.
Eight years after the final war, Dabi eventually succumbed to his injuries and died peacefully. His post-war life was essentially a slow death, as his severely mutilated body left him capable of speaking for only a few minutes each day. Despite his tragic fate, this does not change the fact that Dabi’s flames were always far more powerful than Endeavor’s. In the end, Endeavor acknowledged his mistakes and did what he could to make amends by taking care of his son.
As fans know, Dabi had a rough childhood in My Hero Academia. As the son of Endeavor, the young Toya spent his early days training under the second most powerful Pro Hero in Japan. After all, Dabi was born with a flame-based Quirk far stronger than Endeavor’s very own Hellflame Quirk.
At such a young age, Endeavor taught Dabi how to increase the heat and output of his flames. Unfortunately, Dabi’s inability to tolerate intense heat convinced Endeavor to see him as a failure. It didn’t matter that Dabi’s Quirk was stronger than Endeavor’s, as the young boy’s body couldn’t handle the intense heat produced by his own flames.
