Valheim has introduced a ridiculously long console command that allows players who have previously used cheats or mods to start earning achievements again.
The survival game’s 1.0 update added more than 50 achievements, but using developer commands could block players from unlocking them.
Not every developer command blocks achievements, with Iron Gate listing freefly as one exception. Most commands, however, including spawn, previously flagged the player’s character and world save as permanently ineligible.
As part of a September 11 hotfix, those restrictions are no longer in place, as Iron Gate has added a new command allowing players previously blocked from earning achievements because of devcommands or mods to opt back in.
The command is appropriately-worded, requiring the player to input the following phrase in-game with console commands enabled: yesiuseddevcommandsbutiwantmyachievementsanyway
“The fixes include a function to let you opt into using achievements even though you have been blocked from doing so because of previous usage of devcommands,” Iron Gate explained in the Steam patch notes.
“We will leave it to your own judgement whether or not to activate this function – Oden will surely know if you use it dishonourably, the developer said in the hotfix announcement.
The hotfix is currently available on Steam, with Iron Gate saying the fixes will be brought to other platforms in another update soon.
