Players are accusing Playground Games of removing liveries and issuing bans automatically without warning in Forza Horizon 6. This is despite the studio’s stated human review process. Reddit threads and Twitter users have presented examples of their entire accounts being banned immediately over false flags of distributing material harmful to children, igniting a debate over how Forza, and to an extent, Xbox, enforces its code of conduct.
A Twitter post from a Japanese user trying to upload their liveries mentioned that the banwaves had been going so far as to find unfinished designs and bans over sketched outlines. Many people who purchased the game express that the moderation standards are culturally tone‑deaf when it comes to how it is banning users from submitting their Japan‑inspired Itasha designs.
On the official Forza Support site, it's mentioned that "Itasha style designs are permitted. However, explicit sexual content and sexually suggestive content are forbidden. While we cannot show specific examples of suggestive imagery in this article, designs that depict "provocative poses, associated gestures and facial expressions, and attention to specific body parts" can be examples of suggestive imagery.
Playground recently updated the Forza Code of Conduct and published a Q&A showcasing their efforts. The studio says the Inappropriate User Generated Content section is clarified so players understand “the steps taken by a human moderator when reviewing content that has been reported by a player using the in‑game reporting tools.” It is then that they frame the update as an effort to “preserve and promote a safe, secure, inclusive and enjoyable experience for everyone in the Forza community.”
The Q&A also says the studio is adding player warnings for low-severity first-time violations, replacing the old three-strike system with new categories of violations, and reducing suspension lengths for low severity offenses so they start at one day. Playground says the goal is to make enforcement “proportionate to the offense” and to give players a chance to improve their behavior.
