Filming has begun for the Life is Strange TV adaptation, and we've already got our first look at Tatum Grace Hopkins as Max Caulfield. Or, at least, we can see someone who is almost definitely Hopkins as Max, as a behind-the-scenes shot gives us a peek at someone with a brown bob, wearing a hoodie, and looking over a bay.
Fans are largely assuming that this picture comes from the Lighthouse set, the place where Max and Chloe go multiple times throughout the story. Here, we see Max (at least we're guessing it's Max) sitting with her back to the camera, looking out to the horizon in the outfit she wears in the first episode.
This image comes from Silas Howard's Instagram. Howard is directing several episodes of the Life is Strange show, and it would appear that his work is in full swing, as we got this image from the set this week.
If I had to guess, this image comes from the first episode. Since Max is alone, it could come from her dream sequence at the start - but everything is looking a bit too put together for that. In which case, this more likely takes place after Max and Chloe have left Chloe's house to hang out by the lighthouse.
Max does return to the lighthouse throughout the game, but I would expect different outfits at that stage. I am seeing some speculation that this shot is actually from the finale, depicting Max on her own after Chloe has been sacrificed, but I don't think we'd be seeing that image so soon. We also have no way of knowing if that is the ending that will be depicted in the show - maybe this Max will make the correct decision and let Arcadia Bay be destroyed?
Filming is expected to wrap next month, so hopefully, it won't be long until we're getting a proper look at the show. Life is Strange will hit Amazon Prime Video when it premieres, although it currently has no release date.
