The Incursion Fault is another one of the story missions that I recommend players complete to get the Shift ability in Control Resonant. Shift basically allows Dylan to walk across shifting surfaces like vertical roads and the twisted interior of buildings. It's one of the main story missions from the "Search for Jesse" questline, and players will come across it while exploring the West Incursion zone region. Here's a complete walkthrough of The Incursion Fault quest in Control Resonant and how to get the Shift ability.
To start The Incursion Fault quest in Control Resonant, players will need to enter the West Incursion Zone and head towards the Parking Garage in the northwest corner of the region. You'll also see visions of Jesse while heading there.
You'll eventually arrive at a road going up vertically, which can only be traversed via the Shift ability. Thankfully, there's an elevator next to the road that you'll need to power up. To power up the elevator, you'll need to head inside the House of Mirrors.
This will be similar to how players powered up the Central Checkpoint in the Welcome to Manhattan quest.
There's a charged fuel cell inside the House of Mirrors that you can strike with Dylan's Aberrant and take the charge all the way up to the elevator. Strike the battery near the elevator, and it'll start working.
Now, ride the elevator all the way up the road and drop off. You should be able to see the Parking Garage in front of you, so just head inside it to finally start The Incursion Fault in Control Resonant.
After reaching the Parking Garage entrance, you'll find out that the door is locked. There's a note nearby from the Parking Garage's security guard, who went to the Laundromat to get his gear cleaned. The location of the Laundromat will be marked on your map, so all you need to do is follow it.
The door to the laundromat, Wear'Em & Wash'Em, will also be locked from the other side. However, you can head into the alleyway to the right of it to enter through a back entrance.
