Street Fighter actor Callina Liang ate 12 eggs a day, trained in multiple martial arts, and hit the gym to match Chun-Li’s famously thicc thighs.
Chun-Li is one of the most recognizable characters in gaming. In fact, you’d be hard-pressed to find someone who doesn’t know, or at least recognize, the Street Fighter star, and that’s largely down to her lightning-fast legs.
The martial arts master has continued to be a fan-favorite thanks to her eye-catching design, which Capcom has been keen to accentuate. It’s certainly clear Street Fighter 6’s Chun-Li hasn’t skipped leg day, that’s for sure.
However, the character’s muscular quads have posed a unique challenge to her actor Callina Liang, who revealed she grew her thighs by six-and-a-half centimeters each to prepare for her role in the new Street Fighter movie.
“Chun-Li is all kicks. So we did a bunch of Taekwondo training, Muay Thai, and wushu. I did two hours of that a day and strengthened my legs a lot and changed my diet drastically,” Liang told Empire magazine.
“When I was bulking, I ate 12 eggs a day. Every two hours I had to have a meal, and I was on the verge of throwing up. But it worked. By the end of the shoot, my thighs had grown six-and-a-half centimeters each.”
When Liang wasn’t busy training and forcing down copious amounts of protein to bulk out her legs in the name of video game realism, she immersed herself in every aspect of Chun-Li’s moveset.
