With a franchise that's been around as long as Gears of War, there's bound to have been numerous strange collaborations over the years, but the latest marketing move for the upcoming release of Gears of War: E-Day has been turning heads for all the right reasons.
Coming hot off the heels of the relatively normal custom Gears of War controllers, the series is jumping towards another practical tool that will be familiar to any fan of the series. Although it does look like a nightmare to clean, fans will be able to buy their own usable Gears of War E-Day collector's item, in the form of a Lancer-themed Pizza Cutter, as initially shared by Wario64 on X.
Rather than buying from an official website or Microsoft, the Lancer Prototype Pizza Cutter was made in collaboration with the Prince Street Pizza chain, and is available for purchase on their official website here. The collector's item isn't exactly cheap, however, as it'll cost you a whopping $60 before taxes or shipping to get a hold of one yourself.
As if the pizza cutter and themed box weren't enough on their own, each purchase of the Lancer Pizza Cutter also comes with a digital code to unlock the in-game pizza emblem, letting you show off what you're truly fighting for to other players.
Unfortunately, if you were hoping to get one for yourself, the Lancer Pizza Cutter sold out mere hours after the initial announcement was made, with the website showing the item as being sold out. While there's a chance they might release another wave of the pizza cutter with how well it sold, the practical replica weapon is one that only a few eager fans will get to enjoy for now.
While it doesn't have as much detail as the official Gears of War Prototype Lancer Replica that Microsoft recently sold, the fact that it was a usable novelty item makes it far more practical and cheaper, even if it's drastically more costly than a traditional pizza cutter.
