The S Series of NZXT PC cases was an entry level line of PC cases with a focus on solid quality that doesn't break the bank. NZXT has announced that the series is returning with two versions: S5 RGB and S5 RGB Deluxe. These will aim for style at an entry price point with allowing multiple fan placement and RGB incorporation. For the price, this looks to be quite the steal for a mid-tower case in a world where building PC's might not be a thing in just a few years. Costs are high elsewhere, so compensation can be made with PC cases like this. Both cases are available today for purchase at authorized retailers.
Bringing the S series back is something we’ve wanted to do for a long time, and this is the moment builders need it most,” said Johnny Hou, CEO of NZXT. “We started with how the S5 RGB should feel in your hands and how it should look on your desk — solid steel and tempered glass, nothing hollow about it. Then we made sure it was a case anyone could actually put on their desk, whether the hardware going into it is entry-level or top of the line. That is what makes this one special, and it is why the S series is back.”
These are the two cases that will be available at launch. These cases are for the builder who needs a sturdy steel chassis and prefers tempered glass across the front and the side. A steel-mesh panel will feed the right side intake while removable PVC mesh filters are available on the top and bottom of both cases. Both cases are available in either black or white, with a single-frame 360mm RGB reverse fan pre-installed and facing the glass.
Across the bottom is mesh where the power supply and cables will sit that also features the NZXT logo in the bottom left. Radiators that are supported include up to 360 mm on top along with room up to ten fans. Builders can expect a GPU-directed intake for directing three bottom fans for air flow. The panel is also tool-less and features a front I/O with a USB-C, two USB-A ports and a headset jack for current-gen devices and fast transfers. The cases will pair naturally with NZXT fans, coolers and power supplies.
The S5 RGB Deluxe includes everything mentioned above, but with extra fans. The difference is only $10, so builders would literally pay more for adding fans. The incentive is that the fans will all be in the NZXT ecosystem, and customizable via the NZXT CAM app. The S5 RGB Deluxe includes extra fans at the side, bottom and the rear. These are all 120 mm RGB fan for five in total. The additional side and bottom units are reverse-blade fans. Both cases are under 15 pounds.

Both the NZXT S5 RGB and NZXT S5 RGB Deluxe are available now at authorized retailers. This includes both the black and white colored cases. The S5 RGB retails for $49.99, while the S5 RGB Deluxe with the two extra fans retails for $59.99.
