PlayStation Plus has just added another two games to its Extra catalog. These two new additions to PS Plus are Ball x Pit, a Breakout-inspired roguelike bullet hell, and Slitterhead, a horror action-adventure game.
PlayStation Plus has had a fairly lively month so far. The PS Plus Essential September 2026 lineup included the heavy hitters Sniper Elite: Resistance and MLB The Show 26, as well as the lesser-known experiences Chained Echoes and Wobbly Life. This month has also seen RuneScape: Dragonwilds, WWE 2k26, and Date Everything! come to PS Plus Extra, while PS Plus Premium has recently added Metro Redux and Mega Man X Command Mission. But PS Plus isn't stopping there. Another five games are set to hit the subscription service by the end of the month, two of which arrived today.
On September 22, PlayStation Plus Extra added Ball x Pit and Slitterhead to its roster. Developed by Kenny Sun and published by Devolver Digital, Ball x Pit is a game of two halves. The first half of Ball x Pit's gameplay loop sees players traveling upwards on a vertical screen, launching a ball and using it to destroy oncoming blocks that shoot projectiles towards the player. Like in Vampire Survivors, destroying blocks fills up a meter that eventually rewards the player with some kind of upgrade, which includes new ball types and new passive abilities. Completing a mission then returns players to their town, where they can use earned resources to purchase new buildings that in turn grant new abilities for each subsequent run.

Ball x Pit received a very warm reception from critics upon its October 2025 debut. On OpenCritic, Ball x Pit earned a Top Critic Average of 86 and a critic recommendation score of 91%. While GameRant didn't release a full review of Ball x Pit, the addictive indie game did find itself on GameRant's 15 Best Day One Xbox Game Pass Games of 2025 list, as well as its 15 Best Indie Games of 2025 list.
Developed and published by Bokeh Game Studio, Slitterhead is a 2024 horror action-adventure game directed by Silent Hill creator Keiichiro Toyama. In Slitterhead, players take control of a possessed girl who must save a 1990s-era Kowloon from an infestation of the titular monsters.
Slitterhead received a much cooler critical reception than Ball x Pit. On OpenCritic, Slitterhead is currently sitting at a Top Critic Average of 65 and a critic recommendation score of just 29%. In GameRant's Slitterhead review, Greysun Morales gave the horror game a 5/10, stating that it "does not bring the spooks at all and, frankly, isn't enjoyable to play." That being said, Slitterhead joining the PS Plus Extra catalog could bring about a new wave of appreciation for the ambitious indie horror game.
