Hello Games has just unveiled its latest game-changing update for No Man's Sky, available to all players from today.
Entitled 'Cosmos', this free update to the space exploration and survival game focuses on, well, space, making significant additions that once again expand how you'll play.
There are many new features within the Cosmos update, but let's go over the biggest ones.
A new Star Map has been introduced. Separate from the Galactic Map, the Star Map hones in on the current star system you're in, showing you planets, space stations, and other points of interest in your vicinity.
In space, you can now find Hulks, which are vast constructs floating in the void that can be salvaged. Using the gravity gun, you can tear off big chunks of metal and break it down for resources, but getting too greedy could cause the Hulk to go into meltdown, which will result in a big explosion, so be careful.
Outposts are also new space-bound attractions. These are sort of like mini space stations where you can trade with alien lifeforms, take on quests, and learn more about the star system.
Things called Bio-wrecks can be found; these are condemned facilities that have been overtaken by dangerous organic hazards.
The Cosmos update adds asteroid belts, adding even more potential for gathering valuable resources out in space. Apparently, some asteroids may be large enough to land on, and even build a base on.
