Bloodstained: The Scarlet Engagement has been delayed to 2027.
The delay was announced by game producer and acclaimed game developer Koji Igarashi (also known as IGA), best known for his work on the Castlevania series, in a development update video.
“We have made the decision to move the game’s release to the year 2027,” Igarashi explained. “Currently, the development of the game has entered its final stages.”
The delay announcement included new screenshots from the game. “We also hope to be able to share some gameplay footage with you soon, so we hope you’ll look forward to it.
“We understand that this is disappointing news for our fans, but everyone on the development team is working hard to make the game the best it can be,” Igarashi continues. “We sincerely appreciate your continued support.”
The Scarlet Engagement was announced in June of 2025 and is set to feature dual protagonists: Leonard Brandon, “a young fighter with the Church’s Black Wolves clan,” and Alexander Kyteler, “a knight of the Kingdom’s White Stag.”
Castlevania and Bloodstained veteran Shutaro Iida sadly passed away in February 2026 after a battle with pancreatic cancer. “His talent was exceptional,” said long-time colleague Koji Igarashi.
