The world of Jujutsu Kaisen is focused largely on Japanese sorcerers in the original story by Gege Akutami. However, when Gege released Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo on September 8, 2025, in Weekly Shonen Jump Issue 41, the scope of the series was expanded tremendously. For the first time in the series, human sorcerers were no longer the only ones important. Now, in a new era that has been established by Gege, there exists a race of sorcerers even stronger than humans — the Deskunte from the planet of Simurians.
For the longest time, humans were regarded as the strongest sorcerers in the entire world of Jujutsu Kaisen. Specifically, the humans in Japan were born with immense amounts of Cursed Energy compared to others, which also led to Cursed Spirits running rampant in the country. Over the years, quite a lot of powerful sorcerers have appeared in Japan, such as Ryomen Sukuna, Gojo Satoru, Yuta Okkotsu, Yuji Itadori, and many others. However, now, the time of sorcery has come to an end in Japan, and this is largely because of Yuji Itadori, the protagonist of the series.
In Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Chapter 22, which was officially released on February 16, 2026, in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump Issue 12, Yuji Itadori and Maru together decided to make the world a better place by removing Cursed Energy from future generations forever. In doing so, Yuji Itadori crippled future generations while also making Japan a much safer place. Finally, at the end of Modulo Chapter 23, the process of removing Cursed Energy from the next generations of both humans and Rumelians began.
In Modulo Chapter 24, released on March 2, 2026, in Weekly Shonen Jump Issue 14, this removal of Cursed Energy was finally complete. The removal of Cursed Energy is quite important for the overarching world of Jujutsu Kaisen moving forward. Yuji Itadori did not strip the current sorcerers of either the humans or the Rumelians of Cursed Energy. This means that all those who possess Cursed Energy right now, such as Yuji, Maru, and Yuka, among others, are going to hold on to their powers. But, all the next generations that are going to be born from this day onwards are not going to have access to Cursed Energy at all.

In other words, this is the end of an era for all the sorcerers in Jujutsu Kaisen, as they will no longer have access to powerful abilities. Both the people of Rumel and the humans are now just regular fighters, except for those born with Heavenly Restrictions. These Heavenly Restriction fighters will be equipped with powerful Cursed Tools in an attempt to fight against any Cursed Spirits that might be born in Tokyo from the lingering Cursed Energy still left inside humans and Rumelians.
While the humans and the Remelian tribe are not going to have any Cursed Energy, the Deskunte are different. The Deskunte exist largely on the planet of Simuria, which means that they are not bound by the removal of Cursed Energy in Japan. The Deskunte will continue to hold on to their prized Cursed Techniques and will evolve even further, especially as Dabura Karaba went back to Simuria with new knowledge of Jujutsu, the likes of which no one else possessed on the planet.
