Frost Cores are essential to endgame progression in Valheim, and players can find them inside Winding Tunnels dungeons scattered throughout the Deep North biome. Each Winding Tunnel dungeon has multiple Frost Cores for players to loot, but they're also full of dangerous enemies. You can find the entrances to these dungeons in Valheim by looking for abandoned villages in the Deep North and entering the biggest building in town. There's a hole there that leads to the underground tunnels.
As you're exploring the Deep North, you'll eventually find large, abandoned villages. These places of interest always have one town hall-type building somewhere in the middle. These halls are the biggest structures in the villages, so you should have no issues finding them.
Enter any town hall, then open the doors on the first floor until you find a room with a huge hole on the ground. Enter the hole, and you'll find yourself in a Winding Tunnels dungeon.
Like the majority of other dungeons in Valheim, Winding Tunnels are full of tight spaces. Here, you'll find enemy types that are exclusive to the Deep North biome. Look around, and you'll be able to find some Frost Cores floating around the ends of each tunnel.
Keep in mind that you can break most of the obstacles blocking your way in this dungeon type. Destroying Wardrobe Shafts also has a chance to drop moulds for Nord weapons, but you'll need to gather more resources if you want to turn those into useful equipment.
I strongly recommend wearing the strongest, fully-upgraded Flametal gear you have, as well as decent Frost resistance. The enemies inside the Winding Tunnels dungeons are very dangerous, and you'll need to be ready to deal with a few surprises as well. As always, eat the right food before heading out.
Sledgehammers and area-of-effect magic spells are great for dealing with the groups of enemies here, but if you're not a fan of those, then at least bring a one-handed weapon and shield.
Also, since the entrance to these dungeons is already indoors, consider building a bed on the surface before heading underground. This way, you can quickly respawn without having to run all the way back from your nearest base.
