If you have yet to see the Odyssey in IMAX 70MM or need an excuse to watch it again, showtimes for Christopher Nolan's epic at 39 theaters worldwide that support the much-desired format have been extended through September 30, 2026.
The Odyssey's historic IMAX run was supposed to end on September 15, but the "overwhelming public demand" behind this decision will now see the film staying in the format it's "intended" to be seen for 11 weeks.

Since it first premiered on July 17, The Odyssey has become the highest-grossing IMAX release of all time, earning $457 million at the global box office. The IMAX 70MM screenings alone have accounted for $66 million of that across the 41 theaters that feature it. These accolades are fitting, as The Odyssey was also the first film to ever be shot entirely with IMAX cameras.
Per Box Office Mojo, The Odyssey has surpassed $1.55 billion at the global box office and will look to extend that run over the course of September as it races toward $2 billion.
In our The Odyssey review, we said that it "adapts Homer through a new eye that brings a sense of horror and existential angst to the story – and some humor too. It may not be a perfect movie, but it’s a pretty great moviegoing experience all the same."
