Spider-Man voice actor Yuri Lowenthal has been urging Insomniac to cross over with another iconic Marvel hero in the third game, but it’s not Wolverine.
Marvel’s Wolverine is Insomniac’s latest superhero adaptation, following the success of the two Spider-Man games and the Miles Morales spin-off. The game follows Logan in his battle against the Mutant-hunting Sentinels and brings him into contact with iconic villains like Lady Deathstrike.
With the title finally releasing on September 15, fans have been wondering if Wolverine could show up in future Spider-Man games, given that they’re set in the same universe.
However, for Peter Parker’s voice actor, Yuri Lowenthal, it’s another hero he’s desperate to cross over with,
“While the Spider-Man and Wolverine crossover would be terribly exciting, there is one character that I would opt for even more strongly than Wolverine, and it would be Deadpool,” he said in an interview with Movie Dweeb.
This team-up isn’t just a pipe dream for Lowenthal, though, it’s an idea he’s actually been trying to get off the ground. He went on to say that he’s been asking Insomniac creative director, Brian Horton, to make the collab happen for some time.
“I’ve pushed every time I see him with the Deadpool thing, so if I’ve just spoiled it for Spider-Man 3, then I would just like to believe that they got the idea from me anyway.”
While Wolverine showing up is a lot more likely, a Deadpool appearance would no doubt go down well with fans. The character has arguably never been more popular, following the box office success of Ryan Reynolds’ film trilogy.
