PS5 owners in the US can now use their consoles to watch more than 100 live television channels without paying for a subscription.
Sony has launched Live TV on PS5, a new free, ad-supported service available directly through the console’s Media section. Rather than requiring players to download a separate streaming app, the feature brings live channels and on-demand programming together under the PS5 interface.
The lineup stretches well beyond gaming content. At launch, viewers can find dedicated channels for shows including The Walking Dead, Community, Hell’s Kitchen, The Shield, Unsolved Mysteries, and Fear Factor.
Anime is also heavily represented, with Naruto, Sailor Moon, Hunter x Hunter, and Death Note among the series available. Crunchyroll is providing exclusive Black Clover and Box Sets channels.
Sports fans can access programming from the likes of UFC, NASCAR, FOX Sports, and NBC Sports Now, covering everything from football and boxing to motorsports and hockey, while news and weather channels include NBC News Now, Fox Weather, and LiveNOW from FOX.
There are free movies too, spread across channels dedicated to genres such as horror, action, and sci-fi, alongside creator-focused shows covering gaming, esports, and podcasts. You can even watch popular shows like Hot Ones and The Ringer.
Live TV on PS5 is a FAST service, meaning its channels are free to watch but broken up by commercial breaks.
US players can find it by heading to the Media tab on their PS5 and selecting the Live TV icon. They’ll then need to connect their PlayStation account before watching.
