Goku and Vegeta's rivalry was the heart of Dragon Ball Super 1. The two Saiyans have never been more equal with one another, but all that changed when Goku unlocked Ultra Instinct during the Tournament of Power. Heading into Dragon Ball Super 2, things look hopeless for the Prince of All Saiyans – fortunately, however, the status quo is able to change in major ways, and Goku is no longer going to be the strongest Saiyan around.
Dragon Ball Super 2 is going to prove once and for all that Vegeta is the superior Saiyan, as Goku starts to fall behind while Vegeta makes major breakthroughs. Vegeta is going to unlock new forms, master the greatest techniques known to man, and even defeat his rival by the time Dragon Ball Super 2 wraps up. It's officially the dawn of a new era for the Prince of All Saiyans.
Instant Transmission has been considered Goku's signature ability since the start of the Androids Saga. The only other characters who were able to use Instant Transmission in Dragon Ball Z were Perfect Cell and Kid Buu, both of which were designed to be the final villains at the time, so it makes sense they'd steal one of Goku's best moves. More importantly, Instant Transmission was one of the few skills Goku possessed that his fellow Z-Fighters couldn't use – until now.
Vegeta is officially stealing Goku's Instant Transmission in Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol. Not only that, he's going to learn how to master his spirit energy far faster and more efficiently than Goku did. Dragon Ball Super 2 is going to confirm Vegeta's status as a prodigy built through hard work. Goku and Vegeta's master on Yardrat all but confirms that Vegeta is the superior student between the two, an idea Dragon Ball Super 2 goes on to explore with Beerus later.
On top of learning how to use Instant Transmission, Vegeta is mastering a new ability all of his own. Forced Spirit Fission is a Yardratian technique that not even Goku learned. The move allows the user to forcefully separate any Ki and Spirit energy inside of a being. This would theoretically also allow Vegeta to defuse Piccolo from both Nail and Kami. Since Moro (the main villain of Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol) can absorb Ki and life force, Vegeta uses Forced Spirit Fission to make Moro weaker.
Forced Spirit Fission ends up playing a vital role during the final battle. While the Moro Saga puts a lot of emphasis on the importance of Goku mastering Perfected Ultra Instinct, it's simply not enough against Moro's full power. It takes Vegeta using Forced Spirit Fission and donating Goku the Earth's Ki (including Uub's powerful God Ki) to beat Moro. Without Vegeta, Goku and the rest of the planet would have been killed.
