Last month, The Pokémon Company announced Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen would be linked with the storage subscription service Pokémon HOME in October 2026.
In an update, it's now been confirmed maintenance for Pokémon HOME will take place on 7th October 2026. As noted by Serebii.net, this will coincide with the Switch and mobile apps being updated to Version 4.1.0, adding FireRed and LeafGreen connectivity.
The Pokémon Company: "Thank you very much for your continued support of Pokémon HOME. This notice is to inform you that maintenance for Pokémon HOME has been scheduled for Wednesday, October 7, 2026, from 00:00 to 06:00 UTC. During this maintenance, all functions of Pokémon HOME will be unavailable."
This news about the updated connectivity for Pokémon HOME was previously revealed alongside the news Pokémon Bank on the 3DS would be shutting down in February 2027.
