GTA 6 leaker Cyberleek appears to be cashing out ahead of the Netflix Extended Look, seemingly making over $250,000 from the videos.
Back on August 18, the Grand Theft Auto community was set alight when a video of Jason playing basketball outside of his house surfaced on social media. Many suggested it was fake, but the clip was quickly followed by a few others, as well as images of the map.
These videos were being uploaded by Cyberleek, an unknown leaker who was advertising a memecoin by the same name. The leaker also showed off looks at GTA 6’s driving, combat mechanics, interactions with NPCs, as well as the density of the city ahead of the Extended Look on Netflix.
Now, with the Extended Look finally set to air, and Cyberleek having uploaded a five-minute-long look at the game’s prologue, it appears the leaker is cashing out.
As per GTAForums poster Vice Cit, Cyberleek has cashed out more than $265,000 across a number of transactions for different crypto wallets.
“The KuCoin and CCE.Cash transactions seem to suggest at least two people are involved in this and they’re using different methods to withdrawal their crypto,” Vice Cit posted on August 27. “CCE.Cash is a swap service that does not require registration but would still have information law enforcement could use in an investigation.”Vice Cit noted that there is “some still sitting in various wallets that haven’t moved yet,” indicating there may be a little more still to add to the total.
The forum poster, who has been following the crypto transactions since the start, also added that they have a more detailed breakdown in the works too.
Fans of the leaker had been able to use the cryptocurrency to pay and influence polls that were run about which leaks would be released next.
