10 Hammerfell Locations That Need to be In Elder Scrolls VI

Although we don't know a lot about Elder Scrolls VI, the eagerly anticipated RPG from Bethesda, the buzz on the Internet is that it's going to be set — at least partially — in Hammerfell. There are some good reasons to believe this, and I think that if the next game (which some people believe could be called Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel) really is set in Hammerfell, there's a lot that Bethesda could do with the setting to really make it shine.

These ten Hammerfell locations are ones that I believe simply must be in any game set in Hammerfell. Some are cities, some are regions, and some are much more unique locations, but all of them are examples of really cool stuff Hammerfell has that I think needs to be represented in a game featuring the Redguards' home province.

bangkorai
bangkorai

Bangkorai features heavily in the Daggerfall Covenant storyline in ESO, and it's a fascinating region because it straddles both Hammerfell and High Rock. There are persistent rumors that ESVI includes both High Rock and Hammerfell as locations, which would make Bangkorai a perfect border, but even if it's just Hammerfell, the Hammerfell side of Bangkorai is pretty cool too.

It's geographically varied, making it a perfect example of Hammerfell's rich environments, and it has an interesting history with the Gray Host and the Daggerfall Covenant. If we get to see Bangkorai, it can show us an entirely different side of Hammerfell to the stereotypical view we usually see.

abah's landing
abah's landing

In The Elder Scrolls Online, Abah's Landing is the home of the Thieves' Guild. What used to be a local organization grew into a decentralized criminal enterprise spanning the entirety of Tamriel. Things have obviously changed since the Second Era, but the city has a long history of entanglement with the criminal underworld.

With Abah's Landing, Bethesda has an opportunity to explore the origins and legacy of the Thieves' Guild, and explore a side of Redguard culture that isn't just about warriors and Yokuda. Outside the city, Hew's Bane has an interesting history attached, including pirate and Maormer influence. Could we see Maormer in a mainline single-player game? I hope so!

craglorn

Craglorn is a really cool region of Hammerfell because it's a literal crossroads between Hammerfell, High Rock, Skyrim, and Cyrodiil. By the Fourth Era, the new Orsinium is also believed to be in the general area. Craglorn is a big part of The Elder Scrolls Online as one of the game's Adventure Zones, but it's also stuffed full of interesting lore.

Craglorn has ruins galore, ancient Yokudan and Dwemer lore, Ayleid remnants, and mysteries related to the stars in the sky. It also contains the important Hammerfell cities of Elinhir and Dragonstar, making it a rich, varied location suitable for a lot of different stories. I would love to explore this one a little more in ESVI, especially to see what's changed since the Second Era.
