Best Optimization Settings for WARDOGS

Best Optimization Settings for WARDOGS

Similar to every Early Access game, Wardogs might provide you with some performance and optimization issues. Thankfully, it's not bad enough to make it totally unplayable, but you might want to know the best optimization settings for Wardogs to find a sweet spot depending on your system's hardware that will provide you with the smoothest experience without sacrificing visuals.

The settings below have been tested on an RTX 5070 Ti paired with an AMD Ryzen 7800X3D and 32 GB of RAM. The resolution is set to 1080p for all the recommended settings.

This is a recommendation for players who are using an outdated PC and whose main struggle is just running the game at a playable frame rate. Of course, the game already has a Potato mode that will give you absolute potato visuals. That might be playable on a wide range of outdated systems, but with a combination of Low, Medium, and Potato presets, we can have a more acceptable visual quality while hopefully delivering a playable frame rate:

My PC managed to hit a maximum of 229 FPS with the settings above, with a 1% low of 183 FPS. The average frame rate was around 205, mostly.

For a 5070 Ti with a preset of almost Potato settings, the numbers above don't look good at all. But let's not forget that the game is still in Early Access, and this was expected based on the playtest performance before release.

Overkill Preset 2 - Wardogs

The image above compares the visuals in the recommended settings (left) with the Overkill preset (right). Of course, the difference is like day and night, but unfortunately, the game doesn't deliver appealing visuals in the Overkill preset either. So, don't come into this game expecting Battlefield 6 visuals!

Medium Preset 1 - Wardogs

Let's say you have a decent system that can run most modern games at an acceptable frame rate. Of course, the settings for the lower systems are still worth trying if you want the maximum frame rate to have a competitive edge over other players, but we have a better recommendation for you.

Since your PC is not that outdated, you can get better visual quality while not sacrificing many frames. These settings will give you a good-looking game while keeping frames at a competitive level. Also, we strongly recommend using either the DLSS or FSR upscaling method at either the Quality or Balanced preset.
