Adding a new spin to the soulslike formula, Mortal Shell 2 allows players to up the stakes and boost the HP and DMG of all enemies with Night Mode.
But that’s not all the new difficulty brings, with a few areas and secrets only being available under the guise of night. Here are all of the Night Mode secrets and changes in Mortal Shell 2 (or at least all we could find).
In addition to its HP and DMG scaling effects, all enemies in Night Mode reward you with increased Gloom upon being defeated. If visited again, the areas where you met each Shell will also feature extra Glimpses, while The Collector will set up shop at the Abandoned Outpost Beacon in the Deserted Slums. He will sell you the following items:
A new dungeon, featuring a first-person peek at the Mortal Shell 2 world, will also become available in Shrine of Sorrows. Visiting The Forgotten Tower then allows you to get the Seedbearer’s Scripture by offering the Thawed, Depleted, and Faded Glands to the revered corpse, while heading to the spot where you found Genessa’s Sester’s Sencer at Revenant Graves unlocks a new duo boss (Gloomboom Ritualists) and three extra Glimpses.

Upon interacting with the giant mushroom and entering the dungeon, make your way forward until you spot a cabin. Don’t head in just yet. Instead, go to the right and follow the cliffside to spot a Ventrium. From there, return and head left toward a well before lighting both the candles below and one by its stone chest to unlock it and get one Dorsalite.
Now it’s time to actually clear the dungeon, something you can do by entering the cabin and following the steps below. Completing it will net you one extra Blackmarrow Key and one Touch of Noche.
As shown in the Forgotten Tower map, Mortal Shell 2 players can find the Thawed Gland in the Conquered Temple Gate. To do that, follow the dungeon’s starting path until you cross the traversal gate. Now, continue forward before ignoring the path on the right in favor of the crevice below:
