Never before has there been a character as powerful as Zeno in Dragon Ball Super. Zeno is the Omni-King and supreme ruler of all living things in the multiverse. The Omni-King was introduced at the end of the Tournament of Destroyers in Dragon Ball Super, immediately striking fear into Beerus and Champa's hearts. Despite his childlike appearance, Zeno is the most dangerous being in existence – there is no one who can hurt him, and nothing he can not destroy.
During the Goku Black Saga, Zeno successfully kills an immortal Fused Zamasu by erasing the entire multiverse, destroying everything in Future Trunks' timeline except himself. Erasing the timeline requires no effort from Future Zeno whatsoever, something he does to multiple universes later in the Tournament of Power. Only a few characters rival Zeno, and none enough to actually beat him in a fight. Following a mysterious absence, Dragon Ball Super is officially bringing Zeno back to remind anime fans that the franchise's strongest God is always watching.
Fun Fact: the last time Zeno made an appearance in Dragon Ball Super was six years ago, in 2020. As of summer 2026, Zeno's most recent appearance was in Dragon Ball Super Chapter 67, the final chapter of the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga. Following the events of the Moro arc, Beerus and the Supreme Kai are forced to let Future Zeno and Present Zeno ride them like ponies. After that, however, Zeno never appears in the manga again. Anime-only fans have gone even longer without a Zeno appearance.
The last time Zeno appeared in a Dragon Ball anime was 2018, in the final episode of Dragon Ball Super. As seen in the remake's latest Super Surge trailer, Dragon Ball Super: Beerus will reintroduce Zeno at the end of the Universe 6 Tournament – this time with far more striking animation, art direction, and music that'll be sure to see the sheer power Zeno wields. His original debut was a little goofy, but DBS: Beerus will likely play up his first scene now that everybody understands how dangerous the Omni-King truly is.
Dragon Ball Super's power hierarchy quickly spirals out of control with the introduction of the Gods of Destruction, but Zeno's debut completely changes the landscape. Before, Goku and Vegeta reaching the top of the ladder was a real possibility. In a post-Zeno world, however, it's just not going to happen. In Zeno's first scene, Beerus and Champa – two of the most powerful fighters in the series at this point – freak out in terror once they realize they'll have to speak to Zeno.
Dragon Ball Super: Beerus is making sure every anime fan remembers who's in charge. Zeno won't be playing a big role in Dragon Ball Super 2, but the manga is another story. The Dragon Ball Super manga may still be on hiatus, but Toyotarou's been dropping hints about a comeback and Black Frieza Saga for a while now. Frieza's the strongest he's ever been, presenting the perfect narrative opportunity to reintroduce Zeno, and perhaps even give him a fight.
Moro's absence in Dragon Ball Super 2 will be suspicious considering how important he was in Dragon Ball Super 1 – it feels like a deliberate way to get the audience to forget him, to make an eventual comeback hit harder. Zeno only appears in a joke scene in the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga, isn't even mentioned in the Granolah the Survivor Saga, and is a total non-factor in Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero.
