Publisher and developer RedOctane has announced a release date for Stage Tour, its spiritual successor to Guitar Hero.
The plastic instrument rhythm title hits PS5 on 10th December, 2026, squeaking in just before Christmas.
Stage Tour is essentially a new Guitar Hero game; you play it using a new suite of instrument peripherals, including guitars, microphones, and a drum set, and it features a lengthy list of licensed music to play along to.
As notes come down the screen, you need to hold the right frets and strum at the right time to score points. It's the exact same setup as Guitar Hero and Rock Band.
The game will comprise over 90 songs, including tracks from the likes of Metallica, Paramore, Black Eyed Peas, Blink-182, Muse, Fall Out Boy, The Rolling Stones, Duran Duran, Genesis, Mötley Crüe, and Radiohead. Sounds pretty stacked.
On top of that, you'll be able to collect hundreds of licensed in-game instruments based on real world brands like Gibson, Epiphone, and Kramer.
It really does appear to be the grand return of this type of rhythm game, so if you're nostalgic for the Guitar Hero glory days, this will probably be worth picking up.
