In the Kagurabachi universe, hunger forms an ecosystemic chain of its own. The Magatsumi blade is hungry to drain life force out of everyone it meets, Kasen is hungry to monopolize control over Magatsumi’s power, and then there is Chihiro — hungry for them all. On Chihiro’s menu of vengeance, the main course is the Hishaku, a mysterious villain collective masterfully crafted by Takeru Hokazono. They remain one of the top reasons why the Kagurabachi manga is well worth a read.
Despite their pervasive reach in the underworld and among the Kamunabi alike, the Hishaku aren’t exactly easy to grasp. The group operates like one elusive sorcery orchestra able to humiliate the entire Kamunabi Headquarters in one smooth, deadly symphony.
Since the group believes in the division of labor, not all of its members are equally lethal on their own. Namely, the blood-tracking sorcery expert Toto and the nameless Hishaku Medic have clear support-oriented roles among the Hishaku. The remaining members, however, can wield plenty of death-dealing potential.
Continuing to focus on the theme of hunger, Bingo comes close to being the sorcerer counterpart of Dr. Hannibal Lecter but with a twist. His area of expertise in Kagurabachi resembles Genya’s power in Demon Slayer as far as the core mechanic is concerned. Bingo has to continue eating the opponent’s flesh to tap into his sorcery, devouring humans to summon murderous heads.
Ranging in size and packing enough lethality, Bingo’s lion dance heads remain destructive with or without his presence and pack a punch even after being shattered. This macabre sorcery, referred to as Mako, allows Bingo to shape his own head into a massive man-eating accessory as well. The downsides of wielding this sorcery involve a deep impact on Bingo’s mind and body alike.
Not only does the need to consume humans disgust Bingo, but doing so drives his physiology into a lethargic state. In a scenario where a fight lasts longer than anticipated, these factors make Bingo’s sorcery yield diminishing returns. Despite the game-changing combat potential of Mako, the energetic cost of this sorcery and Bingo’s contempt for his own power place Bingo at the bottom of this ranking.
Though Yukisada might say that he is the strongest among the Hishaku just because Yura himself says so, this isn't something many fans agree with. Within the focused scope of sheer punishing power, Yukisada’s strength hinges on his lightning-fast regeneration, allowing him to recover body parts in just a few more heartbeats than the seemingly immortal Saturn from One Piece.
More so, Yukisada’s capacity for ultrafast regeneration gives him the power to entrap his opponent’s weapon within his body and perform an array of other game-changing support roles for the Hishaku on a vast scale. Naturally, the downside of this power is the enormous psychological toll it takes on Yukisada, which may prove to be too much to handle in a showdown against someone who could outrun his regeneration rate.
