The Stingray in WARDOGS can launch long-range UAV drones that can be controlled to attack armored vehicles and other players. While these modernized weapons of warfare haven't really featured in many milsim video games so far, WARDOGS makes use of them, and you can too when we show you how to build and use them effectively!
To build a Stingray, you need to first be at least Level 8 in the Support Class. You can now use the Large Hammer in any FOB area to build the Stingray for 91 Supply Units.
It's highly recommended to place it in a well-barricaded location inside the base. You don't want to get killed while using a Stingray, as you will have no awareness of your surroundings once you control the UAV drone.
To use the Stingray, you will need scraps. Every UAV drone requires 900 Mechanical Supplies, and you must add these supplies to the FOB to craft the drones. You can do this part yourself by carrying a lot of Mechanical Supplies into the base from HQ, or just ask a teammate to drop Mechanical Supplies near the FOB.
When you have enough scraps, get behind the Stingray and press "B" to craft a UAV drone. Now, as soon as you left-click the mouse, the UAV drone will be launched into the air, and you will instantly switch to drone view to control it.
Earlier in the launch, the UAV drone is still elevating, and you have no control over it, but once the nose of the drone comes down, you can start steering it. I strongly suggest you don't use either boost (Left Shift) or brake (Left Ctrl) as long as you have not found your target. Both boosting and braking increase the battery consumption rate dramatically, which results in losing your drone before even reaching your target.
It's best to open your map while steering the drone and mark the location of your target on the map. This will give you a visual hint on the drone view to steer towards your target easily. Instead of the mouse, use the WASD keys on the keyboard to steer the drone, as it is much smoother.
Keep in mind that the drone will mark any armored vehicle in its view with a white rectangle. Even if the vehicle is hidden behind a lot of trees, you will still get a marker if your drone can see it. Once you have the marker, steer towards it, and the drone will start to lock on. When the rectangle turns red, you can use the boost to reach your target as quickly as possible.
