The Blood of Dawnwalker is set to receive its first major update next month.
In an interview with Eurogamer, director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz gives us something of a patch preview, outlining a few key features.
For starters, another difficulty option is being added. Perhaps surprisingly, this setting will be the easiest of the bunch, allowing players to significantly lessen the challenge of combat so that they can focus almost exclusively on the storytelling.
Of course, there's already an easy 'Story' difficulty in Dawnwalker, but Tomaszkiewicz says that "many people are asking for a more easy difficulty".
As a result, this new setting won't replace the existing Story difficulty, but it will take its name. The current Story mode will be retitled.
Meanwhile, combat itself is being tweaked. More specifically, the game's targeting system is being rejigged, because as it stands, taking aim at different enemies can be a bit of a nightmare.
This is especially true when you use an ability that stuns an opponent. For whatever reason — Tomaszkiewicz claims the behaviour is actually intentional — main character Coen will automatically switch his attention to a different foe should you initiate the stun. The update will ensure you have more control over this.
And speaking of more control, running away from a fight is going to be made much easier. Currently, it can be borderline impossible to flee from a battle, as enemies can follow you across the map in relentless fashion.
