Stalking in Halloween: The Game is something you can do passively by following and keeping eye contact with civilians. However, to stalk more effectively, you will need to use Killer Sense. Killer Sense can be activated by pressing R on keyboard, RS on Xbox, or R3 on PlayStation. Killer Sense can also be activated automatically when hiding in hiding spots.
When in Killer Sense, you will be shifted into a first-person perspective. Sounds are showcased on the HUD in this view, allowing you to track down civilians either by sounds they make directly, such as footsteps, or noises in the environment. However, Killer Sense is best used to focus on and stalk victims.
When in Killer Sense, aim your reticle at a civilian. This will level up their stalk meter over time, but to stalk a victim faster, watch out for Focus Points. These show up in different areas on the victim. Aim your reticle at these points to break them, speeding up your ability to stalk your victim.
Stalking victims will weaken and mark them for Michael to track when they are out of sight. The higher the stalk level, the more they are weakened and the longer they are highlighted. Stalking can also unlock certain types of Context Executions, the stalk level of which will be highlighted on the HUD for you.
Stalking and using your Killer Sense as Michael is the best way to keep track of civilians, weaken them, and secure kills to level up your Blood Thirst for a better advantage. However, you do not want to overuse it. Killer Sense is best used in certain situations, often when you are out of a civilian's sight.
To stalk civilians effectively using Killer Sense, be sure to stay out of a civilian's view. Lurk outside of houses and stalk them through windows, or stay behind them to stalk them without them knowing. You can also use Killer Sense to pick up on audio cues to get a better sense of where civilians may be.
If you are having trouble locating a target, activate Killer Sense and keep an eye out for visual audio pings. These will typically point you in the direction of the nearest civilian, but they can also just be a sound in the environment or a distraction set up by the opposition.
