If there’s one thing that Onimusha: Way of the Sword improves upon greatly over its predecessors, it’s the bosses. While Onimusha has had some exciting boss encounters, they all pale in comparison to what Way of the Sword has to offer. It’s just a bombastic, stylized and skillful display of proper evolution when it comes to a familiar encounter.
For the Burai fight, we are taken back to a scene of a crime: Musashi’s execution of Burai’s brother, Ifuu. This was a challenging fight, but his brother has a lot more up his sleeve than you might think. The two are nothing alike, with Burai sporting more of a lightning element and a lot more mobile. An annoying attack that thankfully has a decently long telegraph.
A very simple two-hit sweeping combo.
Burai will perform a long sweeping attack around his left side that will pushback Musashi.
If at a distance, Burai will rush Musashi with an attack that will send him on his butt quickly.
Jumping backwards, Burai’s seven orbs will spawn in front of you and will shoot outward.
One of the better patterns, Burai’s seven orbs will essentially create a barrier.
