How Do Towers Work in WARDOGS?

How Do Towers Work in WARDOGS?

Towers are a core part of the WARDOGS experience, but they're more than just defensive structures. Every tower inside the Control Zone can be captured by teams. Doing so reveals one digit of a numerical code, and if your team gets all digits, you can activate a tower's drill rig to pull the Hot Zone towards you. This can give your team a massive advantage in WARDOGS, and if you're interested in contesting towers throughout the game's maps, here's what you need to know.

It goes without saying that tall towers will give you a significant advantage over your enemies. You can exploit the huge sight lines they provide to spot or snipe targets, or provide anti-air support for your team. Tower layouts are also very hard to attack without the proper tools or the right plan, and if you build a FOB around the vicinity of one, you can easily make an impenetrable fortress that's difficult for ordinary squads to breach.

It's worth noting that all towers start the game on a 10-minute cooldown. Once that cooldown period is over, head to the second floor of a tower and look for a computer near the staircase. Interact with the computer screen to start hacking the tower, then keep holding your Interact button until the process is finished.

After hacking a tower, a number will appear on the screen. Write it down and announce it to your team, and if you end up capturing every tower in the Control Zone, you can use the small number pad to the left of the main computer to start the drill. Doing this will cause the Hot Zone to go towards the tower that you just activated, and it will stay there for a while before going back to its regular behavior.

Players can build their own drill rigs and have the Hot Zone go to them instead of capturing towers. This is usually easier to do since there's less attacking involved, but there are some things to consider:

Still, building a FOB drill is often the safer and easier strategy. In most public matches, teams don't bother to coordinate enough to capture towers or launch full-scale assaults on FOBs with active drills. However, in case one team does manage to get the correct tower code, they won't have to bother with all the logistics and building involved in running a FOB drill.

You can try guessing the tower code, but you have two attempts to get it right. Too many wrong attempts will lock you out of trying again for a short while.
