Funcom has just announced a batch of exciting new additions for Dune: Awakening, which will further immerse its player base in the game's rich lore, inspired by Denis Villeneuve’s Dune movies.
These announcements include the launch of the new DLC, Filmic Archive, which arrives on September 22, but they've also revealed some highly-requested features will finally be added.
September 22 is a massive milestone for Dune: Awakening, as the game is not only launching for XBOX and PlayStation; console players and PC players alike will have the opportunity to sink their teeth into the new DLC, Filmic Archive.
As the name suggests, Filmic Archive will bring the Dune video game experience and the magic from the movies closer together, allowing players to wear multiple different outfits seen in the films and utilize an extensive new set of building pieces that will make your base feel like it's straight out of the movies.
Funcom states that sleepers will be able to "Wear the Aegis of the Unwalked Path armor, inspired by Paul Atreides’ visions of Fremen holy warriors in Dune: Part One. Brave the elements in the Caladan Stormcoat, worn by Paul and Duke Leto in Dune: Part One. The DLC also includes additional film-inspired outfits, plus an extensive 73-piece Sardaukar building set to bring the feared Imperial warriors’ distinctive style to your base and more."
Dune fans will be able to purchase the Filmic Archive DLC for just $9.99, with more information becoming available tomorrow, August 27th, as the trailer premiere will be seen worldwide during the XBOX Gamescom broadcast, which starts at 11:00 EDT/16:00CEST. The DLC's 'coming soon' page will also be made available after the trailer premiere.
