Modern Warfare 4 devs quietly confirm Shipment map will return

Infinity Ward just quietly revealed that one of Call of Duty’s most notorious maps is set to return in Modern Warfare 4.

There have been plenty of iconic CoD maps over the years, from MW2’s Terminal set inside an airport to Black Ops 1’s Firing Range. Many of these battlegrounds have been revamped and remastered many times, featuring in multiple entries in the series.

But there are a handful that almost seem impossible to leave out at this point. In the Black Ops series, Nuketown falls squarely into this category, and in Modern Warfare, it’s Shipment.

Now, with Modern Warfare 4 arriving this October, Infinity Ward has revealed that Shipment will return once again.

In a September 29 trailer showing off many of the upgraded visual options for MW4, fans immediately noticed a familiar sight at the 37-second mark. After a quick transition, the video shows gunfights taking place among the instantly recognizable shipping containers.

The brief look confirmed that Shipment will be one of the maps available in Modern Warfare 4.

This shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise, as it’s already appeared in five different mainline Call of Duty games, including every entry in the rebooted Modern Warfare series since 2019. It’s well known for its small design and chaotic matches.
