Missed deadlines, being on track to go over budget, and a lack of permanent exclusivity are reportedly the reasons Sony decided to stop development of Physint, a new Bloomberg report claims.

Speaking to sources familiar with the project, journalist Jason Schreier also reports the sales performance of Kojima Productions' two Death Stranding games also played a large part in the decision. They haven't met PlayStation's own "revenue expectations", the article says.

Despite being years away from a release, Physint has reportedly already "missed deadlines" and is "on track to be well over budget". The game also wouldn't have remained a permanent exclusive, which is what happened with the previous two Death Stranding titles. The first game later came to PC and Xbox Series X|S, while the sequel is currently on PC alongside PS5.

For these reasons, Sony decided to stop development of Physint.
