Five Nights at Freddy's is coming to Fortnite for Fortnitemares

Epic has confirmed that Five Nights at Freddy's is joining Fortnite for this year's Fortnitemares event.

After months of rumours and teasing, a new trailer formally confirms that Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria will appear as a location on the map, with Freddy, Bonnie, Chica and Foxy all featuring as bosses that players can take on in a fight.

"It's almost showtime!" Epic announced. "The Fazbear Band has taken over Battle Royale. Face the animatronic animal bosses and survive the night… if you can. Fortnitemares begins 1st October!"

The crossover had been expected for a while, with the pizzeria itself appearing on the island during Fortnite's Override season, and recent Fortnitemares hinting at security cameras and FNAF dialogue.

The annual spooktacular Fortnitemares 2026 begins on 1st October.

Over the summer, Epic Games settled a court case against a contractor accused of leaking Fortnite information. Former contractor Hayden Cohen agreed to a judgment that bars them from "possessing, accessing, using, or disclosing any of Epic's confidential or trade secret information", including a ban on providing confidential information to other third parties, too.
