Fortnite is celebrating the spooky season with the earliest-ever arrival of the annual Fortnitemares update. Dive into a revamped version of the island this Halloween with the arrival of Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria, FNAF animatronics, and a whole lot more. 99 Nights in the Forest also arrives with this update in the form of the Deer Sprite. Here is how to get the Deer Sprite in Fortnite.
The Deer Sprite enters the Fortnite loot pool with the arrival of the Fortnitemares update and can be found exclusively in Chests and Cheat Codes. Cheat Codes offer the most surefire way of getting this Sprite variant, with Epic providing the best chance of dropping it, since the Deer is a Legendary Sprite.
As for the Deer's Special Sprite variants, these can also be found in all Cheat Codes, but Legendary ones offer the highest drop rate potential for them. All variants of this Sprite can be found this way, but the Trick or Treat Sprites do not arrive in Fortnite until October 8 at 9 AM ET. The Bounty Hunter variation also has the added chance of being dropped by securing kills with another Bounty Hunter already equipped.
As an added bonus, Pumpkin Chests offer guaranteed Sprites, making it an extra way to get the Deer Sprite. For a quick rundown of every version of the Deer Sprite that you can find in the loot pool:
Eliminations with Bounty Hunter Sprites
The Deer Sprite is pretty similar to the King Sprite from Fortnite Runners, only this time with one notable difference. With the Deer Sprite equipped, all melee attack damage is increased, with the amount of damage multiplying every time you level it up. This applies to both your standard pickaxe and other melee weapons currently in the loot pool.
As for how to level up the Deer Sprite, you can pretty much earn XP for it through all regular means, including opening containers and extracting other or duplicate Sprites. This is not the case for the Bounty Hunter Sprite, however, as it only earns Sprite XP through eliminations, though the XP gained is 2.5x greater.
