The Golden Joysticks Awards 2026 nominees have been announced, and the Most Wanted category is incredibly stacked with big games, notably including Kingdom Hearts 4, Persona 6 and The Witcher 4.
2026 may end up being one of the most important years for gaming as a whole thanks to Grand Theft Auto 6 and a ton of other massive releases, but there’s still a ton of games to look forward to once we’ve all had our time in Leonida. Even with plenty of room in the second half of the year, 2027 is already shaping up to be incredibly stacked, as is 2028.
I won’t even try to hide my bias by saying that Kingdom Hearts 4 is easily one of the most exciting games on the horizon, but it’s in very good company with games like Resident Evil Veronica, God of War Laufey, and many more. If you want proof, look no further than the Golden Joystick Awards’ jam-packed Most Wanted category.
Earlier today, the Golden Joystick Awards 2026 nominees were confirmed and put up for voting on GamesRadar+, with gamers now able to vote on a number of categories. Perhaps the most exciting award of them all is Most Wanted, which will crown one upcoming game as the most anticipated of the bunch.
As pointed out by the official Kingdom Hearts Twitter account, Kingdom Hearts 4 is one of the many games that will be up for the award, which is a nice reminder that it is indeed an upcoming game. I’d love to say that it’s looking like an easy victory for Sora, but the category is looking like a very tough one to stand out in.
Among the nominees are The Witcher 4, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, God of War Laufey, Fable, Persona 6, Stranger Than Heaven, Ananta, Alien: Isolation 2, Black Myth: Zhong Kui, and even Square Enix’s other juggernaut, Final Fantasy 7 Revelation. As you can probably tell, the award is also taking into account games that could end up launching after 2027.
The Witcher 4 is perhaps the best example of this, as it’s already been confirmed to be targeting a 2028 release date.
Even if it seems like it’s going to be very difficult for my beloved Kingdom Hearts 4 to take the top spot in such a crowded category, it’s nice to see it with a chance. We’ll have to wait some time to find out the final winner, but voting for the Golden Joystick Awards 2026 is live now if you want to cast your vote.
