When you exit your house to go to Anca's hut in The Blood of Dawnwalker, if you follow the path like a normal person, you'll immediately see your siblings outside your house. Lunka, Mirto, and Yanna are all there, just loitering around. You can even hear Mirto's flute when he's happily playing it. Talking to any of them will trigger the Live Bait quest. Mirto said that Yanna is scared of wolves, which is why she refuses to go to the river alone. Here, Coen has the choice to immediately accompany the siblings, or to stay on track and get herbs from Anca first.
Even if you choose to go to Anca first, or you immediately change your mind, you can speak to them again to trigger the quest. So refusal to come won't make the quest disappear.
As you walk to the stream, your younger siblings, Lunka and Mirto, will complain about how it's boring or tiring, despite the fact that they've gone through this road a thousand times. Tired of her siblings, Yanna tells Coen to handle them. Now, you have two choices:
Neither choice has any consequences. If you choose to play tag, the kids will be happier, but in turn, you must spend 1 extra Time Segment for the quest, meaning it will take 2 Time Segments to complete. Meanwhile, if you tell them to stop complaining, they will be sad, but they'll follow your command and go to the river quietly. The tag game also requires you to run around to catch them, which may be boring for some players.
Once you reach the river, you must look for the fishing rods using Focus Mode. You can activate Focus Mode using right-click on PC, L2 on PS, or LT on Xbox. The fishing rods are in a bush behind Yanna.
Next, set up the fishing rods by interacting with the four spots by the river, and put a bait to begin a cutscene. Here, you will have a little heart-to-heart with your siblings. The choice you make in this part doesn't really matter, so you can follow your own intuitions.
Later, Brencis's Officer will appear, disturbing the talk. Here, you can either choose to remain peaceful to avoid a fight, or be aggressive to trigger a duel. Either way, an Uriash will appear to shoo the human officer. The Uriash warns Coen that he doesn't want to kill anyone, but Brencis might order them to, if someone is plotting something. Seeing Lunka sad, the Uriash offers something to calm her down. You can choose to take the gift, or not. There are no consequences here either, so it's best to take the item and calm Lunka down.
Whether you choose to spend 1 Time Segment or 2 Time Segments (by playing tags), you get 250 XP from this quest.
