Rockstar Games has announced a treasure trove of new details about GTA 6, including activities and how many animals players can study.
The latest issue of Game Informer has confirmed several new rumors about GTA 6, such as tropical storms and hurricanes for Leonida to match Florida’s weather.
The magazine, which experienced loading issues as the Grand Theft Auto VI issue went live, also revealed a slew of other information about Rockstar’s long-awaited title.
One big inclusion is the number of animals in the game. According to Game Informer, there will be over 170 species, including ones new to GTA 6.
There is tons of variety, including more than 60 different bird types, over 30 land mammals, reptiles and fish. These include feral cats, monkeys, whales, turtles, and jellyfish.
“Florida has a diverse animal ecosystem that we wanted to faithfully include across the different biomes in Leonida – urban and rural environs, aquatic life both inland and ocean, and the wetland habitats like the swamps and Everglades,” Rockstar vice president of dynamic art, Michael Kane explained.
Just like RDR2, Leonida’s wildlife will be worth actively hunting down as some animals fall into special Rare, Discoverable, and Legendary categories. However, Rockstar is keeping these creatures under wraps for now.
Animals will also display iridescence, bioluminescence, translucency, and feather types along with hair and fur systems for pelts and coats.
