Minecraft Dungeons 2 is now available on Xbox Game Pass. The day-one sequel is the 12th and final new title to reach the subscription service in September 2026, as well as the 142nd Xbox Game Pass release this year.
Formally announced in March 2026, Minecraft Dungeons 2 is the sequel to Mojang Studios and Double Eleven's 2020 dungeon crawler that surpassed 25 million players in 2023. It retains the original's accessible, loot-driven combat and four-player co-op while replacing its mission-based structure with a large, interconnected open world featuring quests, dungeons, side paths, and the new Sift dimension. Jumping, deeper gear and character-build systems, and a broader range of weapons and enemies further expand the classless action RPG formula while still maintaining the overall accessibility that the original was widely praised for.
Since Microsoft stopped including day-one releases in all Xbox Game Pass tiers in September 2024, its new first-party titles have generally reached the Standard tier, now called Premium, six to 12 months after launch. Applying that pattern here, Minecraft Dungeons 2 would likely arrive on Xbox Game Pass Premium between March and September 2027.

Xbox Game Pass already has a variety of confirmed releases for October 2026, with Gears of War: E-Day, Echo Weaver, Forever Ago, Neon Abyss 2, and Deep Dish Dungeon all scheduled to arrive in the first half of next month, among several other titles. The full Wave 1 lineup will most likely be announced on October 6, as the first Tuesday of each month is typically the most common slot for such reveals.
Before any new releases arrive, Xbox Game Pass is set to lose eight titles on September 30. Those departures include Little Nightmares 2, Sifu, Atomfall, and Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, as well as Little Rocket Lab, Sworn, Terminull Brigade, and SOPA Tale of the Stolen Potato.
