Meccha Chameleon has easily been one of this year's biggest surprises, and one of the best-selling games to boot, and that's mightily impressive considering it's been locked to PC this entire time. It's not exactly the most console-friendly game out there, but there is one console it could fit on pretty well — Nintendo Switch 2.
Thankfully, it seems as though the Meccha Chameleon devs and Nintendo agree too, as it was announced that the game will be releasing on Nintendo Switch 2. Better yet, you won't have to wait too long for it either, as it's officially launching later today.
Unfortunately, we weren't given much info on how it would actually translate to Nintendo Switch 2 from PC. Of course, the Switch 2 has a handy mouse function, as you can turn a Joy-Con into a traditional mouse for drawing, but it would be pretty scuffed if that was the only way in which you can draw. We'll have to dive in for ourselves when it launches.
Whatever the case, this does open up Meccha Chameleon to way more potential players, including those that maybe don't use their PCs for gaming purposes. It's a very family-friendly game, and I can imagine it succeeding on the Nintendo Switch 2 just as much as it has on Steam. That being said, no modded maps, so Steam is probably still the place you want to play it.
Meccha Chameleon was a pretty good surprise announcement, but Nintendo had a couple more up its sleeve for the show. Not only did it confirm the recent rumors about a new 2D Metroid called Metroid Ravenous, but it also revealed a brand-new Kirby game titled Kirby and the World Beyond, which appears to be the pink blob's first open world outing.
