ConcernedApe has also continued working on his next project, Haunted Chocolatier, despite the long wait for the game. In his most recent update from August, he confirmed that Haunted Chocolatier development is still making progress and said he has been very productive on the project lately. He also stressed that he does not want to rush Haunted Chocolatier or compromise its quality, adding that he is already enjoying playing the unfinished game after making some recent additions.
That latest expansion of the Stardew Valley universe comes in the form of the franchise's first-ever arcade machines. SOHO Live, working with ConcernedApe, has revealed custom Stardew Valley cabinets featuring artwork by MK/RET, dynamic lighting, rumble feedback, and a brand-new two-player mode called "Junimo Kart Race." The machines will be playable for free at the Stardew Valley: Symphony of Seasons Red Rocks show on October 25, giving fans of the franchise yet another reason to pick up tickets to the event.

The arcade setup will support two-player versions of Stardew Valley's Journey of the Prairie King, giving fans a chance to play the minigame alongside a friend instead of tackling it alone. The experience is designed to fit naturally into the Stardrop Saloon atmosphere found throughout Stardew Valley. Junimo Kart Race is also included just for good measure. Players will be able to compete for high scores in the new mode, while Journey of the Prairie King offers another cooperative option for fans attending the Stardew Valley concert event. However, it's worth noting that the full release of these arcade machines, as well as their price, has yet to be revealed, but depending on their reception at the event, fans should keep an eye out for these arcade machines to hit the market.
The arcade machines are only the latest way Stardew Valley has continued to grow beyond its original game. While ConcernedApe remains focused on finishing Haunted Chocolatier and has not announced a release date for it, Stardew Valley itself continues to receive new ways for its community to experience the world. Many fans are eager for the release of Stardew Valley Update 1.7, for example, which includes a new Farm Type, more character and social content, plenty of secrets, and Clint and Sandy as new marriage candidates.
In the meantime, there are plenty of games like Stardew Valley out there. Stardew Valley is essentially an evergreen inclusion in any gaming rotation, but those looking for something similar but new can find all sorts of farming sims on Steam, PlayStation, Switch, and Xbox.
