To complete the Lost Blood quest in The Blood of Dawnwalker, you must speak to the merchant in Svartrau city and tell him about the fate of his son. Wait around a day for him to grieve, then return to him once more. You'll get more information regarding what happened, and finally be rewarded for finishing the mission.
You can trigger the Lost Blood quest in The Blood of Dawnwalker by exploring the northern part of St. Tyna's Grove. Head north from the Pilgrim's Trail Shrine, and soon you'll find destroyed barrels filled with blood. Investigate the cart using Focus Mode, then follow the blood trails into a cave. Beat the Murohn inside to progress with the quest.
You can skip the investigation if you want, but it's much easier to follow the track if you follow the quest direction.
You can also do this quest backward, where you find the Murohn inside a cave first, then follow the trail back to the cart to discover what had happened. Both ways will lead to the same track, where you must:
Next, you need to find the letter's author in Silberstein.
You also get a Phial of Ambrus's Blood in this quest. You can consume it to unlock Ambrus's skill without having to fight him.
A Letter from Father gives you the following clue: The Murohn was a man from Silberstein, and the father has a shop. Therefore, when you try to find the letter's author in Silberstein, you should check out the merchants nearby first.
Teleport to the Silberstein Shrine on the eastern side of Svartrau City, then head south to the merchant. Speak to the Silberstein General Trader, and tell him about your findings. You can choose to say:
