How to Get Corpse Cotton & Make Fine Thread in Runescape: Dragonwilds

How to Get Corpse Cotton & Make Fine Thread in Runescape: Dragonwilds

In Runescape: Dragonwilds, players can start crafting Fine Thread as soon as they get Corpse Cotton from the Fellhollow region, which can only be accessed after beating the first dragon boss of the game.

Fine Thread is fairly easy to get in Dragonwilds, but doing so isn't exactly obvious. Corpse Cotton, the main component used in making Fine Thread, comes from exploding plants that are native to Fellhollow. Hitting these plants causes them to bloat and blow up after a short delay, damaging anyone nearby while also releasing a shower of Corpse Cotton for players to take advantage of.

There are a few Corpse Cotton plants right by the entrance to Fellhollow. After stepping out of the Spectral Door from the Forgotten Temple, you'll find yourself in a graveyard. If you check the base of the cliff walls surrounding you, you'll find a few bulbous plants hanging around. Smack these with your melee weapon, wait for them to explode, then grab the Corpse Cotton pieces that appear.

You can find another cluster of Corpse Cotton plants growing along the ruined pillars northwest of the big tower in Hope's Fall. You'll find them surrounding the Anima vent there. I found this to be a decent place to visit once every few in-game days, but if you're not geared well enough, or if you're having trouble dealing with big groups of enemies, then the zombies surrounding the Anima vent might cause you some trouble.

If you're lucky, you might get some Corpse Cotton seeds from the plants you trigger together with the actual cotton drops. You can plant these seeds in a Willow Farming Plot so you can grow Corpse Cotton plants in your garden.

Corpse Cotton plant seeds are quite rare, but they have a chance to drop even from plants you grow yourself. To get the most out of every Corpse Cotton plant you cultivate at home, use Compost to increase the amount of resources they yield.

Like the earlier types of thread from previous biomes, all you need to do to get Fine Thread is throw some Corpse Cotton into a Spinning Wheel. By default, you need 4 Corpse Cotton to make 1 Fine Thread, so you're going to need a lot of them to get enough materials if you want to create new weapons or entire sets of Steel or Necromancer armor.

Corpse Cotton also drops from slain Zogres found near Hope's Fall, Silverthorn Keep, and the Vekchenven Kara Vault in Fellhollow. I don't recommend farming these guys as your main source of Corpse Cotton, though, as they require more effort, and there are fewer Zogres than there are Corpse Cotton plants.
