As its name suggests, the Wolf Fur Cape in Valheim is made primarily using Wolf Pelts, which you can get by killing wolves in Mountain biomes. You need 6 Wolf Pelt, 4 Silver, and 1 Wolf Trophy to make this cape, but getting these materials is easier said than done thanks to how dangerous wolves and the Mountain biome are in general. If you're struggling with making a wolf cape in Valheim, here are some tricks you'll want to know.
Mountains are the fourth biome type on Valheim's progression order, so think of it as a tier 4 area that's incredibly dangerous even for players who have already finished the Swamps. Wolves hit surprisingly hard, and the freezing temperatures in Mountain biomes makes combat more complicated than in the previous zones.
Before you hunting wolves up in a mountain somewhere, you'll want to bring the following:
Wolves tend to spawn at the foot of a mountain, so you should have enough opportunity to lure them away from the freezing environments.
Atgeirs are very good at killing wolves in Valheim because of their long reach and ability to stun wolves after hitting them twice with the normal attack combo or a single spin with the alternate attack. Not only will you be keeping them at bay, but you're also going to be stunning multiple wolves at once thanks to the atgeir moveset.
Frost resistance is mandatory when it comes to exploring mountains, and if you don't have a thick cape or the right armor to keep you warm, you'll have to resort to drinking meads or building lots of Campfires. You can make Frost Resistance Meads using Honey, Thistle, Bloodbags, and Greydwarf Eyes. Mead bases must be made using Mead Ketills, then thrown into a Fermenter for a few in-game days.
Unfortunately, the earliest type of winter gear you can make is the Wolf Fur Cape itself. However, as I've mentioned earlier, wolves tend to spawn at the base of mountains, so you shouldn't have to worry much about the cold weather unless you decide to hike further up.
You can technically make a Lox Cape (which provides the same stats) by hunting Loxes in a Plains biome, but to make one of those, you'll need Silver, which you can only get from a mountain.
